First understand that all of these blood filtering systems are new.
That means they are not well studied yet. There are some studies out there which discuss known improvements from ozonation therapy (part of EBO2) and UV blood irradiation (Part of EBO2). When we talk about the benefits of different treatments, we put this is in the “promising” scientific bucket. When we have double blinded large volume studies, we can change that bucket.
We think both treatments have benefits.
Plasmapheresis removes the blood, centrifuges it or uses another method to separate out the plasma, and returns the blood to the body. It is thought that the plasma has harmful things in it- mold, toxins, inflammatory cells- which are removed. Think of it like a deep cleanse. In single pass plasmapheresis, the plasma is removed and is replaced with albumin usually. The issue with this is that there are also good things in plasma- creatine, HDL, and other factors- which are also removed. There is a double plasmapheresis where they filter the plasma twice and return it to the body, so it does not remove all of the plasma.
EB02 has three components: filtration, oxygenation and ozonation, and UV irradiation. So it is doing three things. First it filters. This is thought to remove inflammatory markers, old cells, mold, toxins, metals. Second it is adding oxygen and ozone to the blood. This is thought to increase red blood cell oxygenation (the blood returning to the body is bright red) and ozone is thought to stimulate your body’s natural systems to heal, get energy, and fight inflammation. Third, it uses UV irradiation, which has been shown in studies to hurt viruses. We like ozone blood treatment because it gives more ozone than other ways of ozonation (chambers, topical, etc).
We decided on EB02 in our clinic because it seems to offer a multipronged effect, and we like that it has ongoing improvement by stimulating your body’s own processes.
What does EBO2 do?
This is where science is still evolving. Studies have shown ozonation to:
- Improve mitochondrial function
- Accelerate wound healing in chronic wounds
- Improve neurologic issues- MS,
- Antitumor for breast cancer
- Lessen chemotherapy side effects
- Accelerate surgical healing with less complications
- Shortening Covid infection length and hospital stays
We do this treatment in our clinic. It takes about 90 minutes. Some of our patients also find it helpful after big races to help with recovery. To schedule your EBO2, SCHEDULE
